  • To control increase or decrease of property taxes
  • Ability to obtain & direct federal funding
  • Ability to keep our tax monies collected in our neighborhood
  • Ability to select Mayor and Council Members
  • Ability to set local policies
  • Ability to sustain and improve quality of life
  • Greater influence over local Police services

Incorporation gives residents local control over services and standards in our community Incorporation does not mean you will have more street lights or side-walks.

Incorporation does not mean that your property will be re-zoned. Incorporation does not mean that your taxes will not go up.

Research and studies of the economic viability of the incorporation to ensure that the current tax base (property, sales taxes, permits and other fees) can support the community for years to come have been completed and reflect positive towards incorporation.

Incorporation establishes local controls that currently are under Miami-Dade County. Re-development issues being handled at the County level can have a more local control and input by the citizens of the newly incorporated city.

Incorporation gives local residents in Biscayne Gardens the ability to determine new or more taxes. The entire incorporation process is designed to determine if the new City is self-supporting by the transfer of current taxes and responsibilities from the County to the newly-formed City. Additionally, there are some additional tax dollars that are available to a City (already collected at the state level) that are not available to the county that helps make all of the services possible, these tax dollars today are being given to other cities. Incorporate and bring your taxes back to your community.
